When we talk about CampusVibe (the service) in this policy, we are talking about 3rd Age Systems Inc., the company, CampuVibe, the downloadable application, and the CampusVibe website at campusvibe.ca/your-institution.
We collect different kinds of information. Some of it is personally identifiable and some is non-identifying or aggregated. Here are the types of information we collect or receive and the choices you have with respect to your own privacy.
Personal information you give us: When you register an account and use the service, we collect some Personal Information, such as your name, email address, your institutional program and status, photos and biography. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of certain of our features. In general, the information you choose to provide on the Service will be viewable and discoverable by other users of CampusVibe at your institution subject to some privacy controls that you can configure.
We use the information that you provide for such purposes as responding to your requests, personalizing your experience, improving our services, and communicating with you subject to your profile settings.
Device Identifiers: When you access the Service by or through a mobile device, we may access, collect, monitor and/or remotely store one or more "device identifiers". Device identifiers allow us to uniquely identify your device and are used to enhance the Service (including sending updates and information from the Service). A device identifier does not collect or share any personally identifiable information about you. A device identifier may be used in conjunction with personally identifiable information.
Customer Service: Personally identifiable information may be collected if you report a problem or submit an inquiry to our customer service team(s). A record of that correspondence may be maintained to provide you with an optimal customer service experience.
There are times when communications and related content and other user information may be shared by CampusVibe. This section discusses only how CampusVibe may share user information. Organizations that use CampusVibe may have their own policies for sharing and disclosure of information they can access through CampusVibe. CampusVibe may share information:
As part of our service: CampusVibe is a form of social network for your educational institution. We will display the information you provide on your profile page and elsewhere on the Service. In general, the information and Content you provide will be viewable and discoverable by other users of CampusVibe at your institution. Any information you choose to provide should reflect how much you want others to know about you. You can review and revise your name, and profile at any time. In addition, administrators and organizers have control over the privacy settings of their respective events, clubs and societies. Please check with your organization's administrators before you register if you are concerned that your activities within the club may be made public.
In Compliance with Laws & Protection of CampusVibe’s Rights: CampusVibe may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or subpoena or if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation or legal request; to protect the safety of any person; to address fraud, security or technical issues; or to protect CampusVibe’s rights or property.
That is Aggregated and Non-Personally Identifiable: We may disclose your non-private, aggregated, or otherwise non-personally identifiable information, such as anonymous usage data, platform types, etc., with interested third parties to help them understand the usage patterns for certain CampusVibe Services.
CampusVibe takes reasonable steps to protect information you provide to us as part of your use of the CampusVibe service from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access or disclosure. When you enter sensitive information (such as sign-in credentials) we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal data submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it.
After signing in, you have access to our account profile and can view, correct, remove or change certain personal information or preferences. You can always choose not to provide information, even though it might be needed to take advantage of some of CampusVibe’s features.
CampusVibe complies fully with the federal CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
